Fundraising for the Club

Fund raising steering group members are:

Pitstone and Ivinghoe Junior Football Club currently run a range of teams offering football training and matches to almost 200 children from the ages of 5 to 16. We do not receive any funding from the Local Authority or any other agency which means that we are entirely dependent on membership subscriptions, sponsorship and fund- raising activities to keep going. We try to keep the level of subscriptions as low as possible so we are always hoping to raise as much as we can from our other activities. We hold two very popular bingo nights every year, one at Christmas (Friday 19th December) and the other at Easter. They are both held at the Memorial hall in Pitstone and it’s a great night out for the whole family. Due to popular demand these evenings are now non smoking events so we hope that will encourage even more people to come along and join in the fun.

We try to hold at least one major fundraising event a year. In the past we have had an annual Sponsored walk raising funds also for Mencap, Angelmans and the football club, we now feel it’s time to try new events. Last year we held a very successful Elvis Tribute evening which raised just under £1000 and was thoroughly enjoyable. Our next major fundraiser will be an Abba evening, due to be held on Friday 27th February 2009. Tickets will be available shortly from team managers. As it is only myself involved with the fundraising at present any help or ideas would be gratefully received. Anyone wishing to become actively involved please don’t hesitate to contact me on the above number.

We are also always looking for sponsors for football strips and equipment, and at present we would be very keen to hear from anybody who would like to help towards the cost of some new goals which we will have to buy soon, ready for our move to our new pitch at the Marsworth Road site. As they cost almost £1000 per set, it would be a great help if we could find some sponsors who would help towards these costs. If you feel you would like to sponsor Pitstone and Ivinghoe Junior Football Club in any way at all, please contact Louise by email or speak to your team manager. You will receive maximum publicity and the satisfaction that you are supporting the community and the development of the children that will make tomorrow’s adults.
